LONG LOST HOME Long Lost Home is a collection of musicians put together to record , and perform the songs written by me , Joe Messanella. Originally from Bristol PA , then on to San Francisco , I have been residing in Amsterdam with my family for the last ten years. I write all the lyrics and music , play the guitars and bass , lead vocals and do all the arrangements. I 've written a lot of songs but this web site is dedicated to my new political songs .Formerly the frontman for The Joe Mes Band here in Amsterdam , I performed Blues and Original material throughout Northern Europe. . My new songs are directed at the Bush administration. As an American living in the Netherlands , I have been witnessing events back home with a heavy heart . The newest offering is the 51st State , my summing up of the laughable Bush tenure.The Truth exposes the motivations for the Iraq war. The 51st state is the place people went when they didn't want to believe what was so obvious , the misuse of 9/11 to set in motion both domestic and foreign policies that are proving to be devastating for this country and a rude awakening to it's unsuspecting people. It took a man of Bush 's special abilities to be able to drive this great nation into a deep sandy ditch , wheels desperately spinning , but there's no getting out ..
